A five-year-old was stabbed to death following a domestic violence incident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Sunday morning.
According to UNC Police, the incident happened around 12:10 a.m. Sunday in a single-family home at UNC’s Baity Hill, which is an apartment complex that houses graduate students and student families.
Authorities said three individuals — a husband, wife, and their child — were involved in the incident and a knife was used as a weapon.
Details on what led to the death are unclear. The three were residents, investigators said, and the father is a graduate student at UNC.
The child was fatally wounded and the husband and wife were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, authorities said
UNC Police said the investigation is ongoing and no names have been released.
