2. C0-founder of legendary rock band AC/DC is dead
NPR is reporting that one of the founding members of AC/DC, among the best-selling bands in recorded music history, died Saturday. Guitarist and songwriter Malcolm Young was 64 years old. Young’s family, which announced his death in a statement, noted that he had suffered from dementia for several years. The place of his death was not shared, though the statement mentioned that he “passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside.”

In April of 2014, AC/DC announced that Young would be ” taking a break from the band to ill health,” without disclosing the nature of his illness; in September of that same year, the band revealed that he had dementia. Young’s nephew, Stevie Young, toured and recorded with the group in his place.  For more on this story, click here.

3. Katy Perry, Gigi Hadid reportedly banned from Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in China... Katy Perry, who was set to perform, has now been banned from China indefinitely — along with a host of top models, including Gigi Hadid — after being booked in advance for Monday’s big event. Sources exclusively told Page Six on Thursday that the “Swish Swish” singer had tried applying for a visa to enter the communist nation, but was denied by Chinese officials.

While she was initially informed that she’d be able to gain access, the decision was apparently reversed after the government caught wind of a controversial incident from 2015, in which Perry donned a bright, glittery dress with sunflowers on it during a performance in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.

Her outfit wound up causing widespread outrage because the sunflower had been adopted the year before by anti-China protesters.

To drive her point home, Perry also waved a Taiwanese flag during the concert in show of support for the country, which has been butting heads with China for years over its independence.  For more on this story, click here.
