5 students arrested in alleged gang rape


MISSISSIPPI — The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office has announced that five students have been arrested after allegedly raping another juvenile.

Names, ages, and genders have not been released in the case, but Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said the West Lauderdale High School students arrested each face charges of sexual battery.

Lauderdale County School District Superintendent Randy Hodges said one of the students facing charges is an athlete at the school.

According to Fox News, the incident happened off-campus in March and was not school-related. The investigation is ongoing.
