On Monday, a five-year-old girl died after she fell from a fourth floor window in Massachusetts.
The little girl was reportedly playing with friends in a Brookline, Massachusetts apartment when she suddenly fell 35ft to the sidewalk below.
Local authorities said there were adults in the apartment at the time of the accident.
According to police, they found a window screen laying next to the girl on the ground.
A person passing by told officials that they had heard a noise and went to investigate, finding the injured girl and calling police.
John Gillis, a man who has lived in the building for the past 40 years, stated that the windows were in the process of being replaced.
The 5-year-old girl was rushed to the Children’s Hospital in Boston with serious injuries on Monday afternoon. However, Brookline Police confirmed that she later died in the hospital.
The child’s name has not been released at this time.
