Glen Ramey, 53, was arrested Sunday after authorities learned he lured 8-year-old Sabrina Stauffenberg from her home in Illinois and then brutally killed her. Ramey discarded her body behind a vinegar plant, where she was found Wednesday. Authorities found her by tracking her cell phone.
Stauffenberg was sitting on her porch, waiting for a bus to take her to a church service when she disappeared. Ramey is officially being charged with first-degree murder and predatory sexual assault. According to close family friend Denise Haley, Ramey was a mentally unstable man who was dating a relative of Sabrina. “We’re just glad they caught the real killer, and now this family can mourn the loss of this beautiful child,” said Haley.
In the past, Ramey has had a criminal history. The man was arrested in August on a battery charge, and several women between the years of 2014 and 2016 filed restraining orders against him.
