CNN’s Jim Acosta hijacked a press briefing at the White House on Wednesday and got into a heated debate with White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, while the rest of the press corps sat back in stunned silence.

In a nearly seven-minute exchange, Acosta and Miller went back and forth about what it means to be an immigrant and the wording on the Statue of Liberty.

Acosta claimed that the Trump administration was discriminating against minorities, and alleged that the United States was only seeking to bring in immigrants from English-speaking countries like Great Britain and Australia. Miller pounced, noting people speak English in other countries around the world.

On Wednesday evening, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson went after Acosta, comparing him to the “drunk guy at the party with bad breath who won’t stop talking.”

Carlson’s guest, Mark Steyn, an author and columnist from the English-speaking country of Canada, noted that over 60 countries, including Rwanda and Singapore, have English as an official language, and said, “The idea that this is some pasty white man’s language is so deranged.”

Tucker said, “Jim Acosta thinks English is a race.” He added that it seems liberals, Acosta, CNN, and all of Washington are offended by the idea that America would craft an immigration policy that helps America.

Steyn suggested that if immigrants want a job that Americans don’t want, they should “drag Jim Acosta out of there, kick him to the sidewalk and say, ‘If you want to do the Jim Acosta show, there is a rusting box car around the back of the freight yards.’”

He continued by saying that until around a half century ago, it was perfectly normal for countries to decide the immigrants who were of the most useful to them, which tended to be the immigrants who could assimilate the easiest. Now, he said the United States actually gives the advantage to unskilled, illegal immigrants “who don’t even have a couple hundred bucks for the paperwork.”

Steyn was on a roll, calling Acosta a “buffoon.” Watch his full comments below:
