Actor John Hurt is Dead

The NY POST is reporting that after a long battle with pancreatic cancer Oscar-winning actor John Hurt died on Friday.

Sir John Vincent Hurt was an English actor and voice actor whose career has spanned six decades. After rising to fame in A Man For All Seasons (1966), some of his most famous roles include the 1979 blockbuster Alien, the TV series I, Claudius in 1976 and starring as Winston Smith in the adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984.   However, the 77-year-old actor was best known for his staring roles in “Harry Potter” and “The Elephant Man.”
