Sir Roger Moore, best known for his role in the original James Bond movies, has died at 89-years-old.
He was the star of seven Bond films including Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me.
His family confirmed his death via Twitter on Tuesday saying he died after a “short but brave battle with cancer.”
“Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people,” the statement from Debora, Geoffrey and Christian read. “The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone. Our thoughts must now turn to supporting Kristina [his wife] at this difficult time.”
Moore died in Switzerland and will have a private funeral in Monaco.
