Be sure to share this on social media because it is disgusting to think that the United States gives more to nations who harbor terrorists than it does to the Border Patrol.
A few facts you need to know about US foreign aid:
– MORE THAN 200 COUNTRIES receive US aid.
– TAXPAYERS (you) fund US foreign aid initiatives.
– Of the top 5 nations receiving US aid in Obama’s last year, 4 are Muslim majority nations.
US Aid stats. Source US government:
1- Iraq (95% Muslim) received $5.3B in 2016
2- Afghanistan (99.7% Muslim) received $5.1B in 2016
3- Israel received $3.1B in 2016
4- Egypt (90% Muslim) received $1.2B in 2016
5- Jordan (95% Muslim) received $1.2B in 2016
In Obama’s last two years, the US gave away $47B and $47B in total foreign aid. Trump has reduced those numbers to $37B in 2018, and $39B in 2017. Bush, in his last year was at $23B.
Mexico, despite its resistance and lack of effort to help curb illegal immigration into the US, was appropriated $138M in US aid for 2017, and $152M in 2018. These numbers are down from Obama’s last two years when the US dished out $160M and $164M in 2016 and 2015 respectively.
Guatemala and Honduras are a different story, and Trump needs to revisit these numbers real soon. Obama’s last two years were good for both nations. Guatemala got a total of $239M, and Honduras got $164M. But Trump has given more in his first two years. Guatemala was given $260M, Honduras got $175M from Trump. Although, it is important to note that the numbers are going downward with Trump, versus going upward with Obama. Meaning, Trump is giving less each year.
Of the 14 nations which received the most American foreign aid money in 2016, only one voted with America at the U.N. more than half the time: Israel. All those other countries voted with the U.S. less than half the time — usually much less.
Take a look at the chart below. It shows how much AID was sent to the country, and then how many times they voted with the US at the United Nations.
Look at the chart again. Perhaps the most disturbing fact to consider is how much we give away to nations that harbor terrorists, and then measure the amounts to that of the total budget for the Border Patrol.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the agency charged with securing the nation’s borders and ports of entry. In FY 2013, under Obama, its budget was $10.3 billion. President Trump’s FY 2019 budget would represent the highest CBP discretionary funding level yet at north of $14.4 billion, with the U.S. Border Patrol getting about $4.4 billion.
Consider this: In 2018, the amount of money we gave to other countries to help keep them “secure” is DOUBLE the amount we will give our own Border Patrol in 2019.
