The British newspaper, The Mirror reported Abu al-Khayr al-Masri, the number two leader of Al Qaeda, was killed in a drone strike while in his car on Sunday.
Arab news outlets are reporting that Al Qaeda’s deputy to the leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri was driving in a car on Sunday in Idlib, Syria when the attack occurred.
The 59-year-old Al Qaeda leader was married to Osama bin Laden’s daughter and is reportedly responsible for numerous terror attacks, including the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.
