ALABAMA GOP RUNOFF: Election results are in

The good people of Alabama participated in a Republican special election Tuesday to determine who would represent the party against the Democrats for the open U.S. Senate seat once occupied by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

President Donald J. Trump tossed all his support behind Luther Strange.

Over the past few months, Trump tweeted about Strange numerous times, often touting how great a guy he is, always praising his loyalty.  Trump even went to Alabama last week and stumped for Strange at a massive rally.

Meanwhile, Trump cabinet member Dr. Ben Carson, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, radio show host Laura Ingraham, Fox News host Sean Hannity, and the former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon are just a handful of recognizable names who fight for Trump on a daily basis but who went against the president’s choice.  They rejected Strange by saying he was part of the DC elite.   In doing so they all supported outsider, Roy Moore.

In the end, the people of Alabama rejected Trump’s candidate.   At 9:32pm EDT, the Associated Press announced that Roy Moore won the special election.
