America’s Decision Between Popular and Electoral Voting

More Americans would rather have a popular voting system than an Electoral College voting system, according to a recent survey.

Morning Consult and Politico conducted a survey and found that forty five percent of those polled would prefer a voting process based on the popular vote, as compared to the forty percent that prefers an Electoral College.

Of those, seventy percent of those who are Democrats prefer the popular vote versus sixty two percent of the Republicans who would like to stay with the Electoral College.screen-shot-2016-12-19-at-10-08-20-am

The Electoral College will be gathering around the nation today to ratify President elect Donald Trump’s win; with 306 Electoral votes versus Hillary Clinton’s 232 votes. Clinton did have 2.8 million more popular votes, mostly from urban cities.
