Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci may still have political aspirations.
The Wall Street personality has been attempting to attain internet domain names that are usually associated with presidential campaigns, The Daily Caller reports. Apparently, a representative of Scaramucci reached out to former Goldman Sachs analyst Luke Thorburn about purchasing the domain names Scaramucci2024.com, Scaramucci2028.com, and Scaramucci2032.com.
The Caller speculates that while it is enticing to conclude “the Mooch” plans to run for president in the coming years, he could also be trying to control his brand. Keeping curiosity aflame are Scaramucci’s denials of requests for information on why he is obtaining the domain names since he is usually an outspoken individual.
Thorburn was in the news recently for getting fired from Goldman Sachs for starting a pro-Trump merchandising website and bought the trio of domains within an hour of Scaramucci being appointed to his White House post last month. Last Monday, one of Scaramucci’s representatives offered Thorburn $15 a piece for the links which currently lead to MakeTheUnitedStatesGreatAgain.com, the website on which Thorburn sells his Trump merchandise.
Emails obtained by the Caller show that the representative told Thorburn they were “trying to obtain these domain names for Mr. Scaramucci.”
“I am representing his interest. I receive no personal or financial gain in this transaction. I am trying to obtain the information for Mr. Scaramucci so he can determine how to proceed,” reads one email to Thorburn.
