Antifa threatens to disrupt anti-Sharia law conference (Video)

Outrage continues to erupt over a motion passed in March by the Canadian House of Commons which declares any criticism of Islam is a form of “Islamophobia.”

The M103 “Blasphemy Motion” was brought forward by Iqra Khalid, a Muslim member of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party who is originally from Pakistan. Khalid moved from Pakistan to the UK, then to Canada, and is now influencing Canadian law.

The motion M103 states the government must “condemn Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination,” but the text of the motion does not clarify exactly what “Islamophobia” is, causing many Canadians to fear this is just one step toward Sharia law and Sharia law courts being imposed upon them.

Those who voted for the motion insisted it would not change Canadian law or lead to any restrictions of freedom of speech, but those opposing it are not convinced and have scheduled a conference on Sep. 10 to express their concerns and lay the groundwork for a movement to fight against it.

The conference, scheduled to take place in Toronto, is titled, “M-103: Islamophobia Cure or Sharia Trap?”

Organizers of the conference are not disclosing the location of the venue, as Antifa activists have already threatened to crash the event and raise a ruckus, the Canadian Jewish News reported.

David Nitkin, a spokesperson for one of the co-sponsors of the event, Canadian Citizens for Charter Rights & Freedoms (C3RF), said Antifa has left threatening voice mails and email messages, saying they will “smash” the venue to stop the conference from taking place.

Other sponsors of the conference include ACT! For Canada, Canadians for the Rule of Law, Hasbara Fellowships Canada, Israel Activist Alliance, Mozuud Freedom Foundation, Muslim-Jewish Dialogue, Muslims Facing Tomorrow, Stop Sponsoring Hatred and Tazpit Press Service.

The M103 motion is opposed by many who fear this is just the beginning of Canada’s first “blasphemy law” and Sharia law being upheld in Canada.

Ben Dichter, co-founder of a conservative LGBT group, said his Muslim friends who escaped Iran “fear this is going to lead to the denial of freedom of speech and special privileges for a specific ideology.”

“My Muslim friends say, ‘I came to Canada to escape Sharia law and Sharia law is following me. Canadians need to wake up,’” he said.
