AP: Freedom Caucus say “no deal” on health bill

The Associated Press published a tweet on Thursday afternoon confirming various reports that the House Freedom Caucus chairman said “no deal” was reached on the president’s healthcare bill after meeting with him and the vice president, thus, putting a House vote in doubt.

The president and Rep. Paul Ryan have been working overtime to gather the 216 votes needed to pass the American Health Care Act, but it appears the bill will not get the support it needs unless something significant changes.

The challenge for Ryan and Trump is of great magnitude. For every concession they make to the fiscal hard-liners of the Freedom Caucus, more moderate Republicans feel alienated and threaten to walk away from supporting the bill.
