Apple has announced it will take a stand against Donald Trump because they don’t agree with his comments on women, Mexicans, Muslims and other minorities. The company told GOP leaders that it would not provide funding or other support for the GOP convention.
Google, Facebook, and Microsoft all stated they will support the GOP convention through donations of either cash or technology. Google’s unwillingness to “dump trump” was met with protests at the company’s Mountainview headquarters.
Apple joins HP Inc. in refusing to fund or otherwise support the GOP convention.
Apple and Trump haven’t seen eye to eye in 2016. Earlier this year Trump called for a boycott of Apple products because the company did not unlock the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone at the request of the FBI.
