Apple will introduce more PC emojis

One of the world’s biggest tech companies, Apple, has announced they will be releasing new emojis to celebrate World Emoji Day. The characters are set to be released later in 2017, and many of the new animated icons have political correctness written all over them.

The new set of emojis consists of a breastfeeding mother and a Muslim woman wearing a hijab. Also included will be a man doing yoga, a T-Rex, a vomiting smiley-face, a bearded person and a few more.

The new emojis will be available on iOS, macOS, and watchOS later this year. The emojis were approved by the Unicode Consortium, a non-profit group that sets global emoji standards.

Apple hopes the set of new emojis will allow users to “express themselves with greater diversity,” according to the announcement.

Last year, Apple banned the gun emoji in favor of a more politically correct variant.
