NEW YORK — A 99-year-old Bronx woman’s front lawn was set on fire by an arsonist early Friday, police reported.
A man in a red Toyota pulled up to the elderly woman’s home just after midnight. He exited the car and began pouring gasoline on her front lawn and fence, according to police. He then lit the gasoline, sending the front lawn into flames.
A car parked in an alley also caught fire, officials said.
The arsonist retreated to his vehicle and drove off.
Responding firefighters put out the fire within a few minutes and no injuries were reported.
No one has been arrested but an investigation is currently underway.
