The headquarters of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) in Canberra was attacked Wednesday night when a man drove a van filled with gas cylinders into the office.

The attack happened at around 10:45pm and the building was badly destroyed by the explosion, News Corp reported.

Nobody was injured in the attack, but the driver of the vehicle survived and was taken to Canberra Hospital for treatment.

Lyle Shelton, managing director for the ACL, posted two pictures on Twitter of the burnt van that was used in the attack.

Shelton says this was a targeted attack, and police are currently investigating the incident.

“This is an attack on free speech in Australia, which I am deeply shocked about and never thought I would see in my lifetime,” Shelton said. “Obviously we don’t know the motives of the person who drove this van, but we have received a number of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this year that we have reported to police.”
