During what may be one of her last concerts ever, Barbra Streisand, 75, gave a huge shout-out to her friends Bill and Hillary Clinton. The Clintons entered the concert hall at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and the crowd went wild.
Streisand then gave the former president and former Democratic presidential candidate a hearty welcome, listing Bill’s accomplishments and noting that she had performed at his inauguration. She praised him for lowering taxes for some while raising taxes on the rich before getting in a dig at Trump, saying, “And speaking of taxes, he showed us his tax returns.”
She introduced Hillary Clinton as “the winner of our country’s popular vote” and talked about how listening to the woman’s recent interview “makes us yearn for what could have been, what should have been.” Streisand added, “I was thrilled to hear yourself describe yourself as an activist citizen and part of the resistance.”
She went on to throw more shade on Trump, criticizing his late-night tweeting habit, before pleading for this country to stop the political infighting. A rousing chorus of “Happy Days Are Here Again” came next.
