Battle explodes between Huckabee and Morning Joe hosts (VIDEOS)

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee had some strong words for MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, co-host of “Morning Joe.” Speaking in defense of his daughter, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Huckabee said Brzezinski should “go pound sand.”

“She deserves better from other women and it just amazes me that even the women who say they are feminists are doing everything they can to discredit my daughter,” Huckabee told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum Wednesday night.

Huckabee was speaking about comments Brzezinski had made, targeting Sanders.

“My daughter stands strong and tough and walks into that lions den of a press room every day and represents women and represents the president and represents strength in an incredible way,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee suggested the Brzezinski was not a person he would see as an ambassador for morality and family.

The trouble started when President Donald J. Trump sent out a tweet on Tuesday, targeting Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), whom he said was willing to do “anything” for a political donation.

Brzezinski took it to mean that the president was suggesting sexual favors were included in the offer, and she was livid. She called Trump’s comment “derogatory and disgusting” and accused the president of treating “women like punching bags.”

Then Brzezinski attacked Sanders, saying, “Sarah Huckabee Sanders, good luck today in the briefing. Don’t lie, and do not defend the president of the United States for what he did. If you do, you have no accountability and you should step down from your position. You should resign.”

“Today is your day to say that the president is a sexist, that the president’s tweet was totally … inappropriate,” the host later added.

Sanders defended the president Tuesday afternoon, saying his tweet was referring to political favors, and that only those with their “mind in the gutter” would have taken the message any other way.

On Wednesday morning, Brzezinski expressed disbelief that Sanders defended President Trump’s tweet.

“Sarah Huckabee Sanders, I feel sorry for you,” an incensed Brzezinski said, “I started a hashtag ‘Support for Sarah’ and ‘get your mind out of the gutter’ in your quest for truth, in quest for goodness, in your quest for love [of] country, because you haven’t made it there yet.”

Brzezinski said all women associated with the Trump administration — including the president’s wife and daughter —  are guilty of not responding with outrage to the tweet, as Brzezinski feels they should.

On Thursday, co-host, Joe Scarborough, brought up Huckabee’s comments about Brzezinski.

“What a sleazy thing to do. What a sleazebag,” Scarborough said. “What a judgmental, predictably stupid thing for you to do.”

The videos below document the progression of the battle. First is Brzezinski’s original rant against the president and Sanders.

The following video includes Sanders’ defense of the president’s tweet.

Next is Huckabee’s attack on Brzezinski and his defense of his daughter Wednesday night.

Thursday morning, Scarborough exploded in reaction to Huckabee’s defense of Sanders.
