Battleground State Welcoming Many New Republican Voters

On Wednesday the Republican Party of Pennsylvania posted an article welcoming more than 240-thousand new voters to the party since the November 2015 election.

The state’s Republican Party says that this surge in Republican registrations is “nearly twice the number of newly registered Republicans compared to both the 2008 and 2012 numbers combined.”

According to numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of State, the party has also welcomed almost 100,000 Democrats who have switched their party affiliation to Republican since the beginning of the year.

Numbers indicate that only 38,020 Republicans have switched to Democrats.

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason said that “Enthusiasm is clearly on the side of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania this year,” and “Republicans are making historic gains in voter registration in the Keystone State. As the last-minute registrations are processed, we’re confident we will see our Party grow even larger.”

“Now, it is time to turn Republicans’ voter registration momentum into victory for Donald Trump and our entire Republican ticket this November,” he continued.
