Actress Bette Midler makes outlandish statements comparing the newly-passed health care bill to repeal Obamacare to Assad gassing his own people in a recent Twitter rant.
Midler took to Twitter Thursday to vent her disgust for Republican congressmen in favor of the American Health Care Act, posting: “800 billion dollars cut to Medicaid so #GOPGOONS can give a trillion $ tax cut to the rich. Typical of Freedom Caucus; radical fanatics.”

She followed up Friday referring to Freedom Caucus members as “homegrown Assads,” and likened the new health care bill to them “gassing their own people,” in reference to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who allegedly gassed his own people in chemical attacks over the last few years (most recently last month).

Back in 2013, the “Hello, Dolly!” broadway star reportedly peddled accusations at the GOP by comparing House Republicans to terrorists, saying they are “as bad as the Taliban.” She later pointed fingers at them for the government shutdown, claiming they were holding America “hostage” like “Osama [sic] Ben Laden.”
