Finally breaking his silence about the now infamous conversation he had with President Trump back in 2005, which ended his stint on NBC’s “Today” show, Billy Bush spoke candidly about his embarrassment and humiliation in front of his own daughter to Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America”

Caught on a hot mike making derogatory statements about women with Trump, which was broadcasted throughout the liberal media in a smear campaign designed to take down Trump’s candidacy, Bush told Roberts that at the time, he didn’t take the businessman’s comments seriously.

“If I had ever thought … that there was a grown man sitting in front of me detailing his sexual assault strategy, I would have called the FBI,” Bush said, noting that he didn’t have the strength of character to stop Trump from going into the gutter regarding the way he was able to grab women.  He further admitted that he “added to the conversation” by “keeping the ball in the air.”

Bush recalled how he learned that the conversation was recorded, but thought nothing else about it until the clip emerged in public last year. “It was … inconsequential,” said Bush. “He wasn’t running for president. He was, at the time, the biggest star on television.”

Bush and Trump never spoke after the tape went public and Bush lost his job while Trump went on to become President.

Bush’s reaction to the clip being aired was harsh, he said, adding, “It really, really just killed me.”

The tape was recorded on the set of “Days of Our Lives” in 2005 but was released weeks before the 2016 presidential election by the Washington Post, sparking public outrage and speculation that it would tank Trump’s efforts to become president.
