Former NBC “Today” host Billy Bush and his wife Sydney Davis have separated this week after 20 years of marriage.
“After almost 20 years of marriage, they have separated for the moment to evaluate their life together,” wrote a rep for Bush on Tuesday. “They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future.”
Davis has reportedly been upset with Bush since the infamous “locker room talk” recording between him and now President Trump that was leaked to the Washington Post nearly a year ago. Bush was fired shortly after due to breaking a “morality clause” in his contract.
The tape showed Bush speaking with Trump as he was about to appear on the daytime drama, “Days of Our Lives.” From the bus they had ridden to the set, Bush pointed out actress Arianne Zucker, who was there to greet them.
Bush called the actress “hot,” and added an expletive.
“I’ve gotta use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump said. “You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful … I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
“Grab them by the p_ssy. You can do anything,” Trump added.
After getting off the bus, Bush asks the actress to hug Trump, then added, “How about a little hug for the Bushy?”
After getting bagged, 45-year-old Bush sold his home in New York City and moved back to Los Angeles.
PageSix reported that Davis was naturally very upset with Bush following the incident. She didn’t care so much about the locker room talk, but more that Billy was dumb enough to get recorded and that he asked for a hug from the actress.
“Billy Bush’s wife, Sydney Davis, was furious about the tape,” an NBC insider told the publication, saying, “not because of what was said, but because he was stupid enough to put himself in that position. It wasn’t just the… vile talk, it’s because he insisted the woman hug him and Trump. It was creepy.
“She was so furious that she refused to speak with him for a while — and she’s still furious. They are having marriage problems. He didn’t apologize to her for the embarrassment he caused in his statement.”
The couple has three children together.
