While campaigning for his wife in Greensboro, North Carolina, Bill Clinton was interrupted by several Black Lives Matter protesters who were chanting “black lives matter,” while holding up a sign.
Protestors at the Monday rally on UNCG’s campus unfurled the banner, started chanting, and were eventually removed from the rally after about a minute and a half.
A UNCG sophomore named Lucia Sedda who participated in the protest said the reason behind the interruption was “to hold Bill Clinton accountable for the crime bill that ties in with the problem of mass incarceration of black and brown people today.”
“We think Hillary, who supported the crime bill, her husband, and has called black people “super predators,” should be held accountable just like any other politician,” Sedda added.
