Two men described as members of the Bloods gang were indicted on Thursday in connection to four murders.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against 22-year-old Devon Dreshawn Bias and 20-year-old Darnell Deejohn Vinson.
O’Brien said, “Between these two defendants in the Bloods gang, we have four murders that happened in our county over an eight day time span.”
According to the prosecutor’s office, Bias and Vinson are members of the Deuce Deuce Bloods gang.
The incident in the first indictment which they were connected to occurred on Dec. 4. Charges include murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation or a school safety zone.
The indictment alleges that Bias and Vinson fired dozens of shots at or around an SUV in the 200 block of S. Wayne Avenue, resulting in the murder of a 16-year-old and the attempted murder of Jawan Love, Jarod Love, and Eriq Brandon. Police noticed several bullet holes in the front of a house behind the SUV and also found 33-year-old Severen T. Clayborn dead from a stray bullet that went inside his house.
A second indictment against Vinson is in connection to incidents which occurred on Dec. 10 and 11. Allegedly, Vinson murdered 26-year-old Kieara Ka’ Torence Charnele Hobbs and attempted to murder 27-year-old Latrell Joseph Earl Davis and 27-year-old Christopher Leandro Bivens during a shooting on Dec. 10, at the Exhale Hookah Lounge. The charges related to that incident include murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault.
In another incident on Dec. 11, Vinson allegedly murdered 29-year-old Brandon D. Meeks and attempted to murder Darrell Meeks during another shooting.
Of the Dec. 10 shooting, O’Brien reports: “Both Davis and Bivens were shot in the head and remain hospitalized in critical condition.”
Vinson and Bias will be arraigned on Jan. 2.
