Brawl over parking space goes viral

In Detroit, two women in their 20s violently brawled over a parking space, resulting in an onlooker being stabbed, according to police.

Instead of stepping in, spectators filmed the women, cheered the violence, and shared the video on social media — making the incident go viral.

The two women fought over the spot fiercely, including punching each other, pushing each other down, and pulling each other’s hair.

Footage of the incident taken by onlookers also captured a third woman unexpectedly emerging from the crowd to reveal she had been stabbed. She was taken to an area hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The unidentified brawling women — ages 21 and 22 — were taken into custody but had not been charged with a crime as of Tuesday morning.

Police will reportedly be able to use video footage as evidence, but Detroit police Cmdr. Aric Tosqui bemoaned the crowd’s willingness to record and egg on the women versus attempting to stop the fight.

“I understand there are folks that don’t want to get involved, but if you don’t want to, then you shouldn’t be egging people on.”

He added, “We have an issue out here with how to cope with our problems. People arguing over a parking spot escalating to violence? It’s ridiculous that people act that way.”
