ODESSA, TEXAS – A short-lived car chase on May 3 ended in the capture and arrest of 13 undocumented aliens and 2 U.S. citizens by United States Border Patrol Agents.

Initially, the agents first noticed a white suburban driving east on Interstate 20, west of Odessa. Deeming it suspicious, attempts were made to stop the vehicle. The driver of the suburban sped away, initiating a chase that covered several miles.

The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers aided the agents in the chase. After exiting the highway, the suburban allegedly pulled into a local gas station, with the driver and a fellow passenger attempting to flee. The brief pursuit ended with the capture of two Alabama citizens.

Discovered in the suburban were 13 undocumented immigrants; 3 from Mexico and 10 from Guatemala. It is reported that these aliens entered the United States illegally near Presidio.

The Border Patrol seized the white suburban, all arrests were made, including the US citizens being charged with Alien Smuggling.

The matter has been handed to Homeland Security Investigations Midland Office for ongoing investigation, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol reported.
