Local media in Arizona is reporting that United States border patrol agents found a catapult in use at the Mexico-United States border.

The medieval age weapon was discovered near Douglas Arizona last week along with several large bundles of marijuana. The catapult was being used to fling the drugs across the border into the United States.

This is not the first time a catapult has been found at the border. In 2012, DEA agent Michael Braun told The New York Times, “[t]hey erect this fence only to go out there a few days later and discover that these guys have a catapult, and they’re flinging hundred-pound bales of marijuana over to the other side.”

American authorities immediately alerted their Mexican counterparts of the catapult. The Mexicans seized and destroyed the device on February 10th.

In total, more than 47 pounds of marijuana was recovered at the site.
