Brawl Aboard Flight Causes Plane To Make Emergency Landing

During a Middle East Airlines flight, an airline stewardess was assaulted, causing a fistfight to break out on board a packed London-bound flight Wednesday.

According to a passenger, an elderly man, referred to only as Z A Sh, caused the fight when he began shouting and swearing at a passenger and his wife.

The man then proceed to punch the passenger.  When the cabin crew stepped in to intervene, the elderly man shoved one of them away “violently” and  punched another.

The crew quickly pulled the men apart as the stewardess yelled at the man for trying to punch her.  The elderly man calmed down for a few minutes, but then began his tirade lashing out at a stewardess again.

Due to the situation, the plane’s captain decided to make an emergency landing at the Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, where the older man was dragged off the flight by four security guards.

A passenger, who called the young man a hero, said, “The security staff talked only with the flight attendants and the first man and his wife who got assaulted at the start.”

He continued, “Everyone was happy that they took the old guy out as he was very abusive and scary to everyone.”

Footage of the incident can be seen below.
