The New York Times has released the audio clip of a portion of their recent interview with President Trump.

In the interview, Trump stated that he would never have hired Jeff Sessions as attorney general if he had known Sessions was going to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the election.

Sessions responded Thursday morning with a statement confirming he has no intention of resigning from his post.

In the following audio, Trump said if Sessions was going to recuse himself, “he should’ve told me before he took the job and I would’ve picked somebody else.” Scroll down to hear the audio clip.

“So, Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself… it’s very unfair to the president.”

Trump also discussed Russia, saying he doesn’t own any buildings in Russia, and shared details about his second conversation with President Putin at the G20 summit.

Additionally, the audio includes Trump’s comments about his son meeting with the Russian lawyer.
