California’s Disneyland experienced a massive power outage that shut down several attractions Wednesday, leaving customers stranded on the rides during the peak holiday season.
Disney officials said a glitch with a transformer caused the power to go down at the Anaheim amusement park’s Toontown and Fantasyland. The outage left guests stranded on “about a dozen” rides, as well as the monorail.
The blackout comes during one of the most popular times of the year for visitors. As of this afternoon, teams were still working to resolve the outage.
“We’ve determined that the issue is with a Disneyland Resort transformer and our team is currently assessing and working to restore power,” Disney said in a statement obtained by KABC.
