Lanes into the United States from Mexico were temporarily shut down at the San Ysidro Port of Entry as crews continued to secure the border in response to a caravan of thousands of migrants from Central America.

A message from CBP said they had temporarily suspended northbound vehicle processing as they “position additional port hardening materials.”

The article goes on to state the following:

About 10 lanes were reopened several hours after the closure was instated. The rest remained closed.

Pedestrian lanes into the U.S. at the Ped-East facility were also closed but foot travelers could use the Ped-West facility to cross into the US, CBP said.

Southbound lanes were not affected.

The San Ysidro Port of Entry is the busiest land border crossing in the United States.

Mexican-American activist Paloma Zuniga, who holds dual citizenship in both countries and has been fighting to expose the truth about the effects of the migrant caravan in Tijuana, warned Sunday night on the devastating effects that a border closer would have on the people of Tijuana.

She explained that this is just one of the fears that residents of Tijuana have, and why they are so opposed to the caravan migrants invading their city.

Monday, Paloma posted a new video, responding to the news that Border Patrol did indeed close the border.
