BREAKING: Entire team of Pittsburgh Steelers will not participate in national anthem (video)

Throughout the weekend, NFL teams have been issuing statements voicing their displeasure after President Donald J. Trump called for NFL owners to suspend or fire players who protested the national anthem by taking a knee or sitting on the bench.

But on this Sunday, one team is taking it to the next level.

According to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who is African-American, the entire Steelers team will skip the national anthem by remaining in the locker room.

Mike Tomlin told a CBS reporter the team will not be participating in the national anthem Sunday when they take on the Chicago Bears.

Earlier in the day, NFL players took a knee during a game played in London.  Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars players took a knee during the national anthem, but then stood for England’s anthem.

The show of defiance comes after President Trump renewed his demand that NFL owners fire or suspend players who kneel during the national anthem in protest, taking to Twitter and urging fans to boycott the sport to force change.
