BREAKING: HBO releases statement about Maher’s use of N-word

Under pressure to fire Bill Maher, HBO on Saturday released a statement about Maher’s “inexcusable and tasteless” use of the N-word the previous night.

“Bill Maher’s comment last night was completely inexcusable and tasteless,” HBO said in a statement. “We are removing his deeply offensive comment from any subsequent airings of the show.”

Maher, who was interviewing Senator Sasse from Nebraska, referred to himself as a “house-n*ger” when asked by Sasse if he’d like to work in the fields of the Senator’s home state.  You can watch the video here.

Senator Sasse issued a series of tweets about the event after he was slammed on social media for not condemning Maher during the show.   Our own DML tweeted at HBO earlier on Saturday morning calling for the firing of Maher, calling the liberal host a racist.
