Late Tuesday afternoon a large fireworks market near Mexico City exploded. At least 10 people are dead and 60+ are reported injured. The explosion took place about about 25 miles north of Mexico City in Tultepec. The market itself is practically in rubble, with flattened stalls and charred debris.
The cause of the explosion has yet to be determined. Rescue workers were treating the injured from blast and burn wounds. Some victims reportedly suffering burns to more than 90 per cent of their bodies.
Video footage from the explosion showed plumes of smoke in the air, and wailing sirens can be heard in the background.
