BREAKING: Mike Flynn will plead the 5th

On Monday, former national security adviser Mike Flynn will reportedly decline to cooperate with the Senate Intel committee subpoena. According to AP, Flynn will invoke the 5th Amendment later today.

Flynn’s decision to plead the 5th comes less than two weeks after the committee issued a subpoena for Flynn’s documents regarding the investigation into Russia’s potential meddling in the 2016 election.

Legal experts and officials speculated Flynn was unlikely to turn over any personal documents unless immunity was granted since he would be waiving his constitutional protections. Flynn previously sought immunity from “unfair prosecution” to cooperate with the committee.
