The body of a teenage boy has been found inside the chimney of a vacant home, two weeks after he went missing on his walk to school.

Harley Dilly, 14, went missing December 20 and was discovered dead Monday after police decided to search a summer home that was under renovation across the street from his Ohio home.

The article goes on to state the following:

They found his jacket on the second floor and his glasses next to the brick chimney which police said ‘is between the second and third floors and is 9 by 13 inches’.

Sadly, Harley was found dead, stuck inside the chimney. Police believe he climbed an antenna tower to the roof and attempted to enter the home through the chimney.

The police chief said the home had been checked several times, but they had found nothing, and “had no reason to believe” he might be in there.

The boy was reported missing on December 22, two days after he disappeared. The Daily Mail reported that “Authorities first thought the teen may have run away from home, because he sometimes spends a night away from home if he gets upset.”

A month before his disappearance, police had been called to the home over a “family issue” and reportedly had to “calm the boy down.”

Police stated no foul play is suspected, and it appears to be simply a tragic accident.
