Saturday afternoon, the Senate held their final vote on the confirmation process for Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Vice President Mike Pence presided over the vote, but was not needed as a tie-breaker.

Kavanaugh was confirmed as the next Justice to the Supreme Court in a 50-48 vote.

Key senators Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), all voted in favor of Kavanaugh.

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski, of Alaska was not in favor of Kavanaugh but voted “present” out of courtesy to Republican senator Steve Daines of Montana, who was absent to attend his daughter’s wedding.
