A shooting has been reported at a Maryland high school Tuesday morning.

NBC Washington stated that multiple injuries have been reported.

The Washington Post reported: Authorities in St. Mary’s County, Md., said they are investigating a shooting at a high school but had few details on any injuries or the status of the person who fired shots.

Cpl. Julie Yingling, a spokeswoman for the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, said at 8:15 a.m. that officials “have a shooting at Great Mills High School.”

“It is fluid,” she said of the situation.

On its web site, St. Mary’s County Public Schools wrote, “There has been a shooting at Great Mills High School.” They also said “the school is on lock down and the event is contained.”

ABC7 News also reported that the incident has been contained.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office says this happened at Great Mills High School and that police are on the scene. The sheriff’s department says parents must pick up their students from the Leonardtown High School auditorium and should not go to Great Mills High School.

This is a developing story.
