So far, the death toll is five people at a mosque in Quebec City were gunmen opened fire during evening prayers, according to various local reports.
The number of injured victims was not released, but authorities did say that two arrests had been made.
The shooting took place at the Islamic Cultural Center of Quebec where approximately 40 people were attending the 8 p.m. service.
Local reports state that one of the arrested suspects was 27 years old and had a “Quebecois name,” and that one of the suspects possessed an AK-47.
Earlier today, the Canadian Prime Minister tweeted that the country would take in any refugees that the United States turned away due to President Trump’s executive order temporarily banning refugees from the U.S. if they stemmed from one of seven terror-laden countries.
