Following the Thursday unveiling of the Senate Republican’s healthcare plan, President Trump said that the legislation would undergo “a little negotiation.”
“But it’s going to be very good,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
“We’ve had a thing called healthcare that is… percolating. Obamacare is dead and we’re putting a plan out today that is going to be negotiated,” Trump said. “We’d love to have some Democrats’ support but they’re obstructionists.”
Perhaps proving his point, Democrats began criticizing the bill prior to its release, and have increased their critical fervor since the public unveiling of the legislation.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he hopes to hold a vote on the new healthcare bill next week.
