BREAKING: US schedules THAAD system tests as tensions with N. Korea rise

It was announced today at 5pm EDT via Reuters, that two U.S. officials have confirmed the United States will move forward with a new test of its THAAD missile defense system (TERMINAL HIGH ALTITUDE AREA DEFENSE) against an intermediate-range ballistic missile in the coming days.

The reason stems back to the ongoing concerns with North Korea and its missile tests.

According to Reuters, “the U.S. missile defense test will gain significance in the wake of North Korea’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on July 4 that has heightened concerns about the threat from Pyongyang.”
