BREAKING: Vehicle rams into security barrier near White House

The U.S. Secret Service has announced that a woman has been taken into custody after ramming her vehicle into a security barrier near the White House Friday afternoon.

The announcement was posted on Twitter about 3:30 pm ET.

The Secret Service said the vehicle did not breach the security barrier, and “The female driver of the vehicle was immediately apprehended by Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers.”

“No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident involving a vehicle hitting a barrier near the White House,” officials stated.
