Australian bull rider Bradie Gray is in critical condition at Wyoming Medical Center after being trampled by a bull at the College National Final Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming Thursday night.
Gray, a junior at Odessa College in Texas, was riding Frontier Rodeo’s Levi the Boss when he was bucked to the ground. The bull continued jumping and smashed its two front legs directly into Gray’s chest.
The Australian had no pulse when he arrived at Wyoming Medical Center via helicopter, having suffered broken ribs, a bruised aorta, and collapsed lungs, according to the Casper Star Tribune.
Like all action sports stars, Gray had been injured before, but didn’t dream of letting fear prevent him from doing what he loves.
“I try to ignore it all and just have fun,” he told the Star-Tribune. “That’s what you need to do.” Gray was on the bull for 2.96 seconds before getting bucked off.
