Casino cancels Kathy Griffin’s scheduled performance

The backlash against Kathy Griffin has continued to escalate Wednesday, due to the photo released Tuesday of her holding a fake, decapitated head resembling President Donald Trump.

CNN announced they have terminated their contract with Griffin, and now the Route 66 Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque has cancelled her performance there, which was scheduled for July 22.

A notice pinned to the top of the hotel’s facebook page says simply, “The performance by Kathy Griffin on July 22nd has been cancelled. Edit: Any guests that did purchase tickets will receive a full refund.”

The hotel took swift action, posting the notice on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after the gory photo was released. Over 2,000 comments have already been added to the post, thanking the hotel for their decision.
