Former Canadian Catholic elementary school teacher Christina Albini, 43, was sentenced Tuesday to one year in prison after pleading guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student.
The Windsor, Ontario school teacher was arrested in July 2016 for befriending and subsequently molesting a male student while she was employed as a teacher at King Catholic Elementary School. According to court testimony, Albini “would frequently pick up the boy in her purple Dodge Challenger and take him back to her home for sex.”
The pedophile teacher also sent nude photos of herself to the boy on a cellphone she purchased for him, authorities said, noting that the boy’s mother eventually found the phone and the photos and notified police. They also discovered that Albini had bought the boy gifts, including an Xbox and clothing.
Albini pleaded guilty to one count of “sexual interference — touching the body of a person under 16 years old for a sexual purpose.”
No longer able to teach, the Ontario Court of Justice has ruled that Albini will be registered as a sex offender, which means she has to provide her DNA to authorities. She will also be on probation for three years.
During her arrest last July, Albini was also charged with “possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 based on photos found on a cell phone,” but those charges were later dropped in court.

Albini’s lawyer, Patrick Ducharme, told CBC News she’s “frightened to go to jail. But it’s the type of crime that the government insisted that it’s serious enough that people have to go to jail and she accepts that.”
