Stars of the CBS show Mom are drumming up donations for Planned Parenthood. Actresses Allison Janney and Anna Faris are joining with others on the Mom creative team to raise money for the abortion provider.
Instead of spending money on an Emmy FYC campaign this year, the Mom team will launch a public support campaign in an attempt to raise $250,000 for Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood has been under fire after undercover videos were released showing employees of the organization bartering over the price of aborted baby parts. The videos allege that Planned Parenthood is profiting from the sale of harvesting such parts. Congressional committees have looked into the allegations, with criminal prosecution a possible result.
Republicans in Congress are looking to defund Planned Parenthood and direct the federal money it receives to other federally qualified healthcare centers (FQHCs) that do not provide abortions but do provide the comprehensive care that Planned Parenthood doesn’t offer.
According to Breitbart:
A recent Marist poll found that 61 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion, including 40 percent of those who say they are “pro-choice,” and 41 percent of Democrats.
Planned Parenthood performs more than 300,000 abortions per year and receives over a half billion dollars in federal taxpayer funding annually.
Recent reports that show Planned Parenthood’s clientele has dropped by half a million and that they’ve closed more than 200 clinics have prompted the Mom team and other celebrities to support the organization.
Planned Parenthood’s president, Cecile Richards, thanked the CBS sitcom group for their support via Twitter.
