Celebrities go on Twitter freak-out over healthcare bill

Following Thursday’s unveiling of the Senate Republican’s healthcare plan, Hollywood stars took to social media to criticize the legislation and warn of the imminent doom it will cause should it pass. The plan includes tax credits for low-income and older Americans and repeals most taxes imposed by Obamacare.

According to Rosie O’Donnell, the GOP plan is a “massive transfer of wealth.”

Beau Willmon, the creator of House of Cards, claimed that the “cost of the Republican bill will be human lives.”

The Senate’s bill prohibits Americans from using subsidies to purchase health insurance that cover abortions and removes funding for Planned Parenthood.

Julianne Moore, Viola Davis, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Gabby Sidibe all urged their Twitter followers to voice their opposition, tweeting, “URGENT: Senate released #Trumpcare bill that “defunds” @PPFA. TWEET YOUR SENATORS NOW & tell them to #StandwithPP.”

Albert Brooks also got in on the resistance with a lame joke.

While singer John Legend posted a tweet calling President Trump a “con-man” who will “hurt millions with #trumpcare,” other celebrities warned of dire consequences that Americans will suffer should the GOP plan pass.
